April 21st - Screening of "Pregnant in America"

Moms in Bloom is proud to bring our community a private screening of the new film, "Pregnant in America" on April 21st at 6pm at Benicia High School. The screening is open and free to the public. Following the film will be a panel discussion with local midwives, doulas, and educators. Please join us in educating the families of Solano County and spreading the awareness of more supportive care during pregnancy and birth.

Breastfeeding found to reduce heart disease

Two-year lactation duration decreases risk for coronary heart disease

MedWire News: A study suggests that a lifetime lactation of 2 or more years is associated with a decreased risk for coronary heart disease (CHD) decades later.

"Our findings are consistent with and extend those from earlier reports linking reproductive history to cardiovascular disease risk," comments Alison Stuebe (University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, USA) and colleagues.
